Dr. Abbe DeGroat

Dr. Abbe DeGroat was born and raised in the Northeast and moved to Central Florida in 1999. She is a Florida Gator, having graduated from University of Florida in 2003 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Animal Science, Masters of Science in Extension Education in 2006, and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. From there, she completed a large animal ambulatory internship at the University of Georgia in 2012. She worked at a primarily large animal practice in North Carolina, where she met her husband, Steve. They then relocated back to Florida, where Dr. DeGroat worked in shelter medicine and then private practice. Dr. DeGroat, her husband, and son, live in Lake Wales on a farm with numerous horses, a donkey, dogs, and a cat.
